Danny Baldassarre
Producer / Videographer
Born and raised in Edmonton, Danny's love for broadcasting started at the tender age of 12. He wrote and announced the sports at a local radio school during his summer holidays. By high school, he was hosting his own weekly radio show. Danny found his true calling in television after volunteering at several television stations. He is a graduate of the Radio and Television Arts Program at The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He's been working as a Producer and Videographer for CareersTV since the show's inception. CareersTV has taken him across North America, Mexico, The U.K, France, Eastern Carribean, Japan, Peru and Costa Rica. Danny has interviewed countless celebrities including Tyra Banks, James Brown, Eric Gagne, Mario Andretti and Calvin Ayre. But, Danny's latest special in Peru that explores the innovative contributions of Canadians in the developing world has had the most profound impact. Danny was recognized at the 2004 Alberta Motion Picture Industries Association Awards with an award for producing and shooting the Best Light Information Program, "CareersTV Goes Hollywood." When Danny is not tracking down stories, he enjoys working out and spending time with his family.
First Job:
My first job was delivering a weekly newspaper.
Foot in the Door:
My FITD into Television was at ITV in Edmonton. While attending college, I was hired part-time and gained valuable experience behind the scenes as a production assistant, floor director, camera operator and news writer.
What I Like About CareersTV:
I feel “true living” is getting up everyday to work at what you love to do. It is extremely gratifying to be part of a show that inspires people in every episode to do what they love and not to fear the unknown.
